Original graphic print with ink, paste, tape, and/or organic materials on glossy archival paper. Each print is stylized, annotated, doodled-on, dog-eared, ripped, creased, smudged and more to resemble magazine pages of the 70s 80s and 90s. In these graphic masterpieces the product or brand being marketed is Black: people, culture, history. Colorfully reimagined as a brand and hypothetically advertised like any other brand would be on tv, apps, and billboards. The journey starts with these joyful scenes and invites the viewer to follow that thought path and imagine a world filled with these beautiful images instead of the many negative images we see daily, and how that could reshape non-Black perceptions.
